PLEASE NOTE: I am aware that some programs teach and map -ild, -ind, -old, -ost, -oll and -olt as one sound. This is INCORRECT. While I do agree that teaching these sounds as units or clusters (commonly referred to as glued or welded sounds) can be beneficial and I do so in these lessons, all these patterns, with the exception of -oll spells THREE SOUNDS. Please DO NOT map these combinations as one sound. Sound boxes (elkonin boxes) are meant to help students segment the individual phonemes in words – ONE sound per box.
